Canoe Sprint Olympic Events

Canoe sprint come to mind on a in a straight line itinerary alienated in lanes on peaceful water. The remoteness standards by the ICF for international races are 200 meters, 500 meters, and 1000 meters. 

Each boat has there own nominated lane apart from for races over 1000 m. where there too may well be spinning points. Men race in canoes and in kayaks, women in kayaks apart from in the United States and Canada. Someplace women's canoe is an experience race at both National Championships and Canada Games. For each race a number of warmth semi-finals and a final may be compulsory, depending on the number of participant. Canoe sprint has been component of the Olympic Games for men since 1936 in Berlin and for women since 1948 in London. Notable Olympic gold medal champions are Birgit Fischer-Schmidt with 8 gold medals between 1980 and 2004 and Gert Fredriksson with 6 gold medals between 1948 and 1960.
